This 40 Plymouth street rod is on display at Garrett Classics in Lewisville, Texas.    The Plymouth was chopped and had a great deal of body work done on it. The door and trunk handles were shaved, and some other custom touches were done. We aren't sure how long ago the build was done, but it is showing it's age.   The steel body is showing some cracks and bubbling throughout. We show the flaws in the following photos.

The car runs well and sounds great with it's duel exhausts and large tail popes.    Be sure to watch the video to hear the sound of this street rod.    The pin striping on the car was carried into the interior.    The battery compartment is behind the drivers seat, and access to the rumble seat in behind the passenger seat.    The hood was customized to open forward and opens easily.

Under the hood is the 455 ci Olds Rocket V-8.    The undercarriage is also showing it's age. There is surface rust and some of the undercoating is peeling.   There is a new fuel tank.    The chassis of the 40, is actually from an Olds Cutlass.    If you are looking for your first hot rod and want something you can drive right now and work on as you want, this car can be purchased at a good price and worked on to bring the body back to a really cool old school ride.
