(Privately inspected by an  NCRS judge in 2015)

This 1958 is extremely nice. It was inspected in 2015 and found to be a prime candidate for just doing a small amount of work to bring it to NCRS judging quality.  The stainless around the glove box and release latch for the top and around the seats,  is all in excellent condition, and working properly.  This looks to be an older restoration that appears to have been done correctly.   According to VetteFacts.com, out of 9168 base convertibles in 1958, only 1631 were painted charcoal with either red/beige/or charcoal interior and either a white or black top.

The Muncie 4 speed is not original to the car. It came from the factory with a 3 speed manual.

This transmission is dated 1959.    There is a small chip by the radio knob.   The vin tag is in the correct location for the 1958 Corvette, and is correctly attached with philips head screws instead of rivets.   There are some minor paint issues, but nothing really serious. There is some scratching where the top hits the deck.   The soft convertible top is in excellent condition.

Notice the pillow designed to put inside the convertible top when folding it to protect the plastic window.   The trunk is in excellent condition. The mat appears to be original. It has it's own part number.    The spare is in place and there is a reproduction jack and jacking tools.   The signature "washboard " hood is unique to the 58 as are teh 2 chrome spears down teh deck lid.   The 283 engine runs very well and performs as it should.  We have had no leaks under the car since it has been here.  Be sure to watch the video to see and hear this beauty in action.

The block stamping shows what the engine is. You can see the broach marks to tell it's original.

It was hard to get a shot, but it is F219CU, showing a Flint, MI built 283ci with  two 4 barrel carburetors for a 1958 Corvette with a manual 3 speed transmission. That being said, the 4 speed transmission in this car is the only thing not original. It's date code is 1959.

The 2 Carter Carburetors are correct to the car. Both AFB 6-1299 with 15/16" throats. The choke housing is  not period correct.  The undercarriage is in very nice condition.  All of the bright work and emblems are excellent on this car.

Some cracking around the trunk lock.  Some small cracks in the rear quarter by the passenger side door.   Also some bubbling starting on the top deck lid section of the convertible top lid.   There is one small ding in the passenger's side cove  stainless.

This car truly needs to be seen to be appreciated. The colors are stunning and it also drives as well as it looks.   This is your opportunity to own one of the nicest 1958 Chevrolet Corvettes we have seen. Please give us a call with any questions
