The 68 Camaro had no way of telling if it was a real SS except for the engine.  This car did not have a trim tag or any documents like build sheet or Protect-O -Plate, nor it's original engine, so we don't know for sure if it was a real SS.   It doesn't really matter though, because this is a great car to drive and looks terrific. If you aren't looking for an original matching numbers car, and just want a nice fun car to enjoy, this is it.   The current owner has owned this car for 14 years and has enjoyed it though he did not have time to put many miles on it.

The 383 Stroker crate engine was purchased by the current owner and installed around 2008.   Here are a few of the photos taken when the new engine was put in.   The mufflers and exhaust system give the car a really deep sound.  When this car was rebuilt, all parts were American made parts. The driveshaft was purchased at Ft. Worth Gear and Axle, the leaf springs were American made and not aftermarket from another country. The point is, the car was restored with quality parts and very well done.   The Camaro sits on Futura GLS tires on P215/60R14s in front and, BF Goodrich Radial T/As P255/R15 s in the rear.

This car had a vinyl top at some point and you can see some signs of the pattern in the paint. There is no ruat, just some marks on the roof.
