It is obvious to people who know Camaros that looking at the VIN# will tell you this was not a big block from the factory. Does it really matter? Someone took the time to create a very nice SS 396 Tribute car, or as some would say, clone.

At some point in this cars life, someone put a dealer replacement CE block in the car. The code on the block is CE357709. The 3 after the CE tells us this is likely a 1973 block. That being said, Chevy was doing so much with big blocks in those days, it could be a 396/402 or even a 454. The seller was unable to see the casting number to know for sure, but it's definitely a big block.

Whoever restored this Camaro and decided to turn it into a 396 SS clone, did a great job. They paired a Muncie 4 speed with the big block and added just the right touches. The center console with it's built in gauges looks good and gives it just the right look.

The Camaro performs very well. It starts right up on a cold start and it shifts well. The dual exhausts sound great and the car rides well.

The Camaros are extremely popular even today. This car has very few flaws. You will see them in the photos. two tiny chips that were touched up on the fender edge near the hood, a tiny crack in the paint on the rear spoiler, and a little tear in the fabric on he drivers door edge by the top.

If you are looking for a car that has been well taken care of, always garage kept, driven to shows and not abused, this tribute SS will do all that the real matching numbers car will do for far less money. It is still a good investment, but can be driven and you don't have to worry about it like you would the pristine big dollar trailer queen. Have fun doing local shows, or just driving it. It would make a great car to cruise the back country roads in
