This is an extremely nice 70 Stingray. Built for the owner in 2007 to be strictly a show car. The builder did just that for him. The car began to attend shows in 2008 and won several awards through 2012.
Countless hours and money, went into the restoration of this Corvette. These 70 convertibles are still extremely collectible.
Since that time the owner has kept it at home and has driven it occasionally. The car did not come with a hard top, so an aftermarket one was purchased. 1970 was a low production year for Corvettes due to a strike in 1969. The first ones off the line were not until February. There were only 6648 convertibles built that year. This was one of the first built on February 25, 1970. The gauges all appear to be working. The trim tag shows the car was built almost 49 years ago to the day of this posting, February 25th 1970. It was a Daytona yellow car with black interior.
This Corvette was built at the owners request to be a show car. It appears to be matching numbers. The engine builder claims that the code on the block shows it to be a 350/ 300hp engine. I did not find that data.
The undercarriage is extremely nice. It is evident that this car was hardly driven at all. A friend dropped by while I was shooting our Corvette. I couldn't resist this shot. There is one minor flaw in the paint. There is this tiny star on the center of the hood which is not noticeable unless you really look for it. This very nice example of the classics 1970 Stingray still turns heads and will still be a great contender at any show.
