Garrett Classics is proud to showcase this classic '79 Chevy Camaro Z/28. This unique Z wears its original paint & recently (December, 2014) underwent an extensive $5,000+ professional service & refresh mechanically with verifying receipts from CARRS Corvettes & Customs in Plano, Texas. The car has a hand-written mileage and maintenance log from brand new in 1979 into the 1990s. The car was in a lengthy storage with it's original owner from 1991 until 2014, the current owner bought it and refreshed it to its current condition. This one is a pleasure to drive and runs very well. Earlier in its life, a performance built 350 4-bolt block was installed along with headers and increased cam, carbureration.
The paint & body are in exceptional original condition. The unique Z/28 colored decals are bright and intact. The paint has a great shine front to back. There is some fading along the fender edges, see photos. Also the plastic grille assembly is cracked. Although not perfect, this is a very nice survivor-type Camaro with just over 73,000 original documented miles. Recent major work completed includes the brake system rebuild, water pump & cooling system refresh, transmission service, differential service, tune-up & carburetor overhaul, NEW (December, 2014) tires, and more. All of this work totaled to $5,297.52. We have the invoice from Carr's.
Open the doors to 1979. The interior displays original upholstery & carpeting front to back. The dash is in excellent condition and the gauges are functional. An older aftermarket Panasonic AM/FM cassette stereo is in place. There is seam separation on the driver's seat bottom. The original trim identification plate is intact on the cowl. Under the hood is the previously rebuilt & modified 350 4-bolt V8. The cam was changed, a double-roller timing chain installed, along with a standard rebuilt. Induction and exhaust capabilities were further enhanced with an Edelbrock carburetor, intake, and a set of free-flowing headers. Accessories include power steering & power front disc brakes.
The wheels of choice are the factory turbine alloys wrapped in B.F. Goodrich Radial T/A rubber all-around. The trunk is clean and detailed. The undercarriage appears very solid front to back.
