We are presenting a very nice original Mercedes-Benz 300TD. The current owner has owned the car since 2002. The Auto Check Report shows the previous beginning in 1996. However, we have a purchase order for the original owner in 1987. There are also receipts from that original owner dating from 1987 as well.    Below are receipts dating from the original owner of the car all the way to 2019 when the current owner had the car completely gone over and added 4 new Michelin tires. He spent over $10,000. which includes the tires, new steering box, and more.

The receipts above are a great record of the maintenance on this car.    The paint on the 300TD is in good condition. Of course it is showing it's age, but in general it is fine. We show 2 small rust area later in the ad in our undercarriage shots.    The interior is in very good condition for a car with over 200,000 miles on it. The current owner did carry his dogs in the car, so you may find some left over dog hairs we may have missed in detailing the car.

The straight 5 diesel engine or the OM617, was used in Mercedes fro 1974 till 1991. This engine is considered to be one of the most reliable engines ever produced, with engines reaching up to 620,000 miles without being rebuilt.  This is one of the key reasons for the popularity of Mercedes in North America in the 1980s.    You can see there are several spots of touched up chips on the hood.    The turbo diesel engine is running great. The mileage may seem high to some, but diesel engines can log far more. We also have receipts from 2019 showing A/C repairs as well as having the timing chain checked for wear.   The current owner said he would have no problem jumping into this great little wagon and driving to California right now.

You will see the battery shut off switch that the current owner had installed. He did not drive the car a great deal in the last few years, so he had that installed to extend the life of the battery.    The undercarriage is exceptionally clean on this car.  The car spent it's early years in Wisconsin and then Massachusetts, before coming here to Texas. However, you would never know it by looking at it.    Below are the only 2 small areas that show a bit of rust. Considering the car is 36 years old and is unrestored, this is very minor.    The factory wheels are all in very good condition.

Due to our weather here in Texas, we just did a short video of the engine running and the front windows working. We will insert a full video when it's available. Click the sentence below to watch it.
