The exterior has been restored in the factory hue of Moonlite Cream. This car gets a lot of compliments. It is in beautiful condition, fully restored. The paint and body show very well as does the chromework. The canvas convertible top is power-operated and in excellent condition, complete with a canvas convertible top boot. The power top assembly was rebuilt and retains its 6-volt operation. The interior was restored with originality in mind. The original steering wheel is in beautiful condition. The original radio still works. All of the upholstery is in excellent condition. This car is a pleasure to cruise in. The engine and transmission work well together. The 235 cubic inch inline-6 power plant was rebuilt to spec & runs smooth. A 216 head has been fitted to this engine.
The transmission of choice is Chevrolet's Powerglide Automatic. This 2-speed automatic transmission was last overhauled in 2013, with verifying receipt. The engine compartment is clean and detailed, displaying original sheetmetal throughout the firewall, inner fenders, and core support. The original trim identification plate is also in place. This beautiful '51 Chevrolet rides on 15-Inch steel wheels with factory hubcaps, fitted with B.F. Goodrich Silvertown Wide Whitewall tires. The trunk is complete mat, and spare tire/wheel, great shape. The undercarriage shows very well front to back. This is a structurally solid example that has had a host of restoration work performed in recent history.
