We are proud to showcase this beautifully restored 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray Convertible. This car is finished in Tuxedo Black and motivated by its born-with #'s matching L78 396/425HP & Muncie 4-Speed manual transmission. The body lines up nicely and all of the bonding strips are intact. This is a quality Corvette you can drive and show, a very rare L78.
Under the hood is the born-with, numbers-matching L78 396/425HP high performance big block V8. See the photos of the original engine pad stampings below - T0607IF - 5120929. The block casting number is 3855962. This engine currently runs an Edelbrock aluminum intake & Holley 4bbl, however the factory Winters aluminum high performance intake is included. The factory breather assembly is in place along with the correct exhaust manifolds & exhaust shielding. The factory Harrison overflow tank is also in place.
This L78 Corvette was originally finished in Silver Pearl, it has been restored in Tuxedo Black with a Black convertible top. The paint and body are in very good to excellent condition with no street cracks or issues to note. Any imperfections to be found are very minor and very few.
Under the distinctive hood is the desirable & correct 396/425HP big block V8. 1965 would be the only year Chevrolet would offer the L-78 High Performance 396 in the Corvette.
Open the doors to 1965. The interior is beautifully done and era-correct throughout. The dash displays the factory high-rpm redline tachometer along with the rest of the correct factory gauges. All gauges are working with exception of the clock (intermittently works). The factory AM/FM Delco stereo is in place as well. The steering wheel is the optional Teakwood example while the upholstery has been done in black leather.
The original trim identification plate & VIN plate are intact and legible. Again, this car was originally finished in Silver and is now Tuxedo Black. The undercarriage looks to be in excellent condition front to back. The suspension has been previously rebuilt. The frame and flooring is in great shape.
